In Between Presence and Absence -2009 -various size -hand made paper casting, fabric * I have cast containers such as bowls, vases, cups, glasses, bottles and pots to allow for the visualization of the invisible— the emptiness in the visual world. I cast not the physical containers, but the essence of true being of the containers, which is their empty. The bottle no longer resides in the finished casts, but the presence of its absence remains in the cast. This collection of casts shows the subsistence of the absence and presence in our life.
